Loved the first half then got annoyed with the dialogue being broken up by the random thoughts the character was having. Maybe because I was listening. Just move the plot along! Fulfilled a PopSugar reading challenge. 🎉

I wasn't sure I'd be interested in this book club pick but it was actually a super quick read! Its kind of a less dark Everything I Never Told You. A family with an oldest daughter trying to get into Harvard where everyone is just really stressed out with all the pressures of trying to have it all. Everyone has a secret/issue and I was just waiting to see how it all shook out. I enjoyed the multiple POVs and the resolution!

Finished one book and got this far in a second on the drive home from Omaha today 🤓

I read this book when it came out and really enjoyed it! If you liked The Nest, give this one a try! The characters are generally more likable, though they are indeed steeped in privilege. It will also resonate with parents of high schoolers and those who went through the admissions process not too long ago.

I know opinions on this novel are quite mixed, but I really enjoyed it! If you like family dramedy, this might be for you.

Trying to decide what to read...

This was 3.5 stars so really it was a bit better than so-so. I like reading about ordinary people in crisis mode and also enjoy multiple voices in telling the story. The plot however was predictable -- good story though. No more secrets in this family, I hope. My oldest is applying to colleges right now so I appreciated the stress that process brings.

A look at what happens when "perfect" people are hiding not-so-perfect secrets. A summer pick ??

Id you're a kid that's applying to college or are a parent of a kid that's applying to college, then this is a must read. Along with Excellent Sheep and Everything I Never Told You.

Plot was so boring and predictable, I had to bail. Summary: Families are busy. Sometimes they're so busy, they don't really see what's going on. 👎🏻 💤
