At twenty-five, Princess Adrianne lives a life most people would envy. Beautiful and elegant, she spends her days dabbling in charities and her nights floating from one glamorous gala to the next. But her pampered-rich-girl pose is a ruse, a carefully calculated effort to hide a dangerous truth. For ten years Adrianne has lived for revenge. As a child, she could only watch the cruelty hidden behind the facade of her parents' fairy-tale marriage. Now she has the perfect plan to make her famous father pay. She will take possession of the one thing he values above all others--The Sun and the Moon, a fabled necklace beyond price. Yet just as she is poised to take her vengeance, she meets a man who seems to divine her every secret. Clever, charming, and enigmatic, Philip Chamberlain has his own private reasons for getting close to Princess Adrianne. And only when it's too late will she see the hidden danger...as she finds herself up against two formidable men--one with the knowledge to take her freedom, the other with the power to take her life. From the Paperback edition.

Pickpick

This was a good book to read on my cottage holiday by the lake. I loved the storyline. It's a classic Nora Roberts romance. Boy meets girl, becomes obsessed with wanting her and gets her at the end. Although in this case I found Philip quite annoying. I loved Adrianne. She is determined, strong and a woman cat burglar.

Pickpick

A good read, but a bit more serious than her other books that I've read. The first part is definitely slow, and also somewhat hard to read. As you can tell from the synopsis, the entire point of the book is that Adrianne wants revenge against her father because of what he did to her mother... so the first part of the book is about what he did to her mother, and although it isn't graphic, it's still hard to read ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) (TW for rape, physical/emotional abuse, drug/alcohol abuse).

After part 1, the pace picks up a bit. The burglaries are fun, and I loved Phillip (and loved Phillip and Adrianne together), and the ending is quite satisfying. But while this was an engaging read, it's not one I see myself picking up again.

TheAromaofBooks @Crazeedi - Thank you!! I'm working my way through Roberts's backlog. With so many books, some are definitely better than others. I had a lot of mixed feelings about this one because the beginning was sooo slow and kind of dark. Interesting but not my favorite. 4y

Crazeedi @TheAromaofBooks I've never really gotten into her books, I've maybe read one, years ago 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Crazeedi - While I enjoy most that I've read, the only ones I've really LOVED were the Bridal Quartet. They're sexier than I usually prefer, but the setting, the warm friendship between the core group of women, the realistic men she writes, and the snarky humor has turned them into comfort reads for me. I'll tag the first book. 4y
Crazeedi @TheAromaofBooks thank you for the rec! I'll be sure to check out 4y

#boundtogetherjune @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620 I love a good Revenge plot. But be careful what you wish for: getting back at someone can be #sweet or sour...
