I loved this book! Power is so open and raw on her own journey and struggles, first with her alcoholic father and the weight of his loss, then finding her place and voice in a world-wide struggle where despite the proliferation of noise, ppl rarely say anything new. It‘s a fascinating wind from her early days as a war correspondent to one of the most influential political positions in the world. Raw, real and incredibly enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this book from my #NewYearWhoDis partner @Amandajoy and my timing of reading this was great as Biden names his administration. A lot of the names in this book are familiar again because they have new roles. But beyond the politics, I most enjoyed how Power shares about her childhood in Ireland and as an immigrant, the struggles of balancing her work/life, and her efforts to improve human rights in difficult circumstances.

Amandajoy I‘m glad you enjoyed it! I thought she had a pretty powerful story. 4y

Another great evening at the Hay Festival Digital - long may it reign! Can't wait to read this book - and listening to her talk has bumped it way up the TBR!

MicheleinPhilly Just purchased this as the ebook is very cheaply priced in the U.S. 👍🏼 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘m looking forward to reading this one soon too! 5y
ElaineR It was an excellent talk wasn't it? O could have listened to her for hours. Book sounds fascinating. Look forward to seeing what you thought of it. 5y
Mitch @ElaineR it went so quickly! And she talks really engagingly about issues that are potentially tricky to understand the nuances of. Really liked her. 👏🏻 5y
Hooked_on_books It‘s really good! I listened to the audiobook, which she reads herself, and I thought it was great. She‘s a compelling woman. 5y
