Andrew McCarthy grows concerned for his family after he catches a young man, Zachary Denton, photographing his daughter, Grace McCarthy, and other children at a park. To his dismay, Zachary talks his way out of trouble when he's confronted by the police. He hopes that's the end of it. Then he finds Zachary at a diner and then at a grocery store. He knows their encounters aren't coincidences. And just as Andrew prepares to defend his family, Grace vanishes. As the police search stalls and the leads dry up, Andrew decides to take matters into his own hands. He starts by searching for sex offenders in the area and researching enhanced interrogation techniques... He convinces himself he'll do anything to rescue his daughter, unaware of the pure evil he'll face in his journey. He's willing to hurt-to torture-anyone to save his family. Jon Athan, the author of Into the Wolves' Den and The Abuse of Ashley Collins, delves into the underworld of internet predators in this disturbing horror novel. Are your children safe? ⭐️😩one of the worst books ever! Not because of the violence, but because of the awful juvenile writing and cartoon over the top violence. It really takes away from the horror of the subject matter. No one would act like this dad. I love revenge stories done wells. What crap!

Pickpick

Ok, so I finished a few days ago but I had to get my thoughts in order. This might be a little long. We'll see.

You guys, this book....not for the faint of heart. This is basically a desperate father hunting down sex offenders looking for his kidnapped daughter. The story itself is fantastic. The execution is...well...it's an execution. I don't think I have ever read anything so graphically violent EVER. I'm talking zero to Holy Shit 👇👇👇

FantasyChick In the blink of an eye. And I'm not talking just violence. I'm talking desperate father, revenge, gory as hell torture. I didn't even know some of these things were possible. Once it got going, the story did feel pretty rushed but given the subject matter, I'm not complaining. Quick read (even with the excessive cringing) and pretty well written. This isn't a book I will ever recommend to anyone but if you can handle it, it's a pretty good read 3y
FantasyChick I will give one major piece of advice though for anyone who reads this book....skip chapter 3. It literally haunts me. No spoilers since it's early on but this chapter vividly describes child torture and I almost DNF'd right there. This is the only chapter that highlights that so the rest is just plain adult violence but this one chapter....don't do it. You'll regret it. 3y
FantasyChick One more thing. This isn't a book about violence for the sake of sick bastards that get a kick out of it. Its an eye opener about the world and some of the people in it. How quickly someone can be snatched, even when you're right there. It's terrifying. But it's real. This is why I gave this one a pick. 3y

TheSpineView Never, ever would I read this. I can't imagine even writing something like this. Don't know how you managed. 3y
BethM This is why I stay away from thrillers and true crime. When these guys get released to the street after prison they come to me. The world is a scary, screwed up place sometimes and prolong exposure definitely taints you. 3y
FantasyChick @TheSpineView There may have been some skimming involved. Quite a bit of skimming 3y
FantasyChick @BethM I couldn't even imagine having to deal with it on a regular basis! I can only guess at how much that would wear on you after a while 3y
TheAromaofBooks Oh wow, sounds way too intense for me! Great review, though! 3y

I have a feeling I might be in over my head....

Thanks BookTok

Andrea4 I'm going to guess from the title that I wouldn't be able to handle this one. Also, do we ever question the brains behind these works? 🤔 Should we? Lol 3y
FantasyChick @Andrea4 I got to chapter 3 and I'm not sure I can handle this book 🤣 But the story itself is good and I apparently fucking hate myself so I'm going to see how far I get. I questioned this author's brain but I read a couple reviews that mention he goes into why he wrote this in the author's notes so I'm hoping it's a case of shock value with purpose and not because he's a sick fuck 🤣 It's a lot though....a LOT. 3y
Andrea4 *shudder* no. Lol 3y
ShelleyBooksie Big NO here. 3y
