Twelve-year-old Abbey's world is turned upside-down by both personal and national events of September 11, 2001, as well as their aftermath, but finds greater strength through art, friendship, and family.

A lovely MG novel in verse about Abbey, 12 yo. She‘s thrust once again into a new home and school (Army ‘brat‘) when 9-11 happens. Her aunt Rose is missing in NYC, and her dad‘s off to Afghanistan. Conditions are ripe for polarization in human behavior; anti-war, anti-Muslim, pro-war, love for country and the ever present fear of the unknown…

"?? ??? ??????, ? ??? ???? ??? ??????? ??????? ? ???? ?? ???? ?? ???????? ?? ???..."

A middle grade novel in verse told from the point of view of 7th grader, Abbey. This book starts on 9/11 not long before the first plane hits the WTC. It's interesting to remember another tough time that our country perservered through, and to see how life does continue to move even during tragedy.⁣

tracey38 The cover is beautiful. And what a traumatic and scary time yet we all pulled together then and that was beautiful. 4y

I was really intrigued by this book because it centers on 9/11. I was only 6 years old when it happened so I never truly felt the magnitude of it.

This book did an amazing job detailing how 9/11 rocked everyone‘s world.
