I'm disappointed with how this ended. It felt like there was a lot of build-up that was unimportant, then it wrapped up quickly. I just wasn't entertained by the story. This is my least favorite volume.

This was a really cool side story in the Shades of Magic series. It looks at the truth behind the legend of Maxim Maresh. Not easily a stand alone series, as the magic isn't always fully explained. I've only read A Darker Shade of Magic in the book series, but it is a fascinating world and this comic series is a great addition.
This one was all right, I enjoyed the dynamic, but I'm having a hard time sympathizing with the angle Maxim is taking here to convince others to take up arms.
I really enjoyed this graphic novel series set in the Shades of Magic world. It was great getting to meet Maxim when he was young and a prince and learn about the things he accomplished to earn the moniker “Steel Prince”. #AuhorAMonth #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix #20in4 +36 pts
Volume 3 done! I really enjoyed these. I look forward to the next comics she writes.
