The new mystery novel in the evocative Victorian crime series starring the charming March Middleton and the most curmudgeonly private detective in London, Sidney Grice. Gower Street, London: 1883. March Middleton is the niece of London's greatest (and most curmudgeonly) private detective, Sidney Grice. March has just discovered a wealthy long-lost relative she never knew she had. When this newest family member meets with a horrible death, March is in the frame for murderand only Sidney Grice can prove her innocence. Grice agrees to investigate (for his usual fee) but warns that he is not entirely convinced of her innocence. If he were in her position, he might have been tempted. But the more he uncovers, the more all the clues point to Grice himself . . .

#CurrentlyListening — I love #audiobook narrator #SarahNichols 🙌🏼

CouronneDhiver I‘ve been thinking about you two... how are the moving plans coming along? I hope you‘re well. 6y
BookishMarginalia @CouronneDhiver Yesterday we finished at our old school (including senior graduation!) so today we‘re still shell-shocked. We are moving at the end of June. 6y

Here's to another edition of "Can I finish it before I have to return it to the library?"

RealLifeReading I saw this recently. How is it? 7y
quietjenn @RealLifeReading I'm not to far into yet, but I'm intrigued. I really liked the first two in the series. This one is ... odder? On purpose, I think, as befits the story, so it'll be interesting to see where it goes. 7y
melissanorr I play the "can I finish this book before the due date" very regularly. I have to admit I don't win that often :) 7y

Reader,

I'm a monster. I forgot my #bookmark for the #24in48. I've resorted to a most heinous crime against books. What can be done to mend the error of my ways?

Sincerely,
Desperately Seeking a Bookmark

LitHousewife Oh my God! You need a bookmark!!!! 😳☺️ 8y
Jess_Read_This @LitHousewife 😣 I almost didn't confess my book sin. Shame on me for not planning better... 8y

Jess_Read_This @rachelm Eek! How do you manage that? 😁 8y
rachelm By being a terrible person, and also lazy :( I actually do for books I don't own, but my own books get worse treatment. 8y
zembla Pssh, if it's a book that you own then I say it's fair game 😈 8y
Jess_Read_This @rachelm ...lets just go with the thought that your books are well loved. Honestly, I think some of the neatest books have character when it shows they have been well read. 😊 I actually will also tag the pages when I want to go back for a quote I liked or a spot to reference in a book review... 😧 You're in good company! 8y
zembla @Jess_Read_This If anyone hassles you about marking up your own books, tell them a LIBRARIAN said it's okay 😏😎 8y
Jess_Read_This @christinamcc I may have to drop that Librarian Bomb of Approval one day! Thank you!! 8y
