Naked!
Naked!: with audio recording | Michael Ian Black
4 posts | 5 read | 2 to read
A hilarious new book about a boy who refuses to wear clothes, from comedian Michael Ian Black and illustrator Debbi Ridpath Ohi, the team that brought you Im Bored, a New York Times Notable Childrens Book. Michael Ian Black and Debbie Ridpath Ohi, whose smart cartoony artwork matches Blacks perfect comic timing (The New York Times Book Review), have paired up again to showcase the antics of an adorable little boy who just doesnt want to get dressed. After his bath, the little boy begins his hilarious dash around the housein the buff! Being naked is great. Running around, sliding down the stairs, eating cookies. Nothing could be better. Unless he had a cape

I‘m sure there are some that will find this hysterical. For me, it‘s okay. I‘m not the biggest fan of Black‘s comedy, so I‘m not the right reader for this. I can see kids adoring it, however. #BBRC #PictureBook #LetterN

LibrarianRyan It amazes me he is more known for his various kids books lately then for his comedy. I didn‘t like his comedy either. 3mo

I came back to this after my kiddo's bath tonight. Don't be fooled, Elmo is definitely not laughing. Creepy bubble bath aftermath 🛁

I had the day off from work, at the library, so I took my 4-year old, Sam, to another branch of the library by our house. Because reasons. We are reading one of his current favorites, Naked, which we check out so often I really should just buy a copy. #sharethelove #readtoachild #booklove17

My kindle is naked! I haven't had a cover, but am worried it might get scratched (well, scratched more) in my purse. Anyone out there with a 7th generation who has a cover they love???

britt_brooke I have a Kindle brand cover for my Paperwhite and it's great. Maybe there's a similar one for yours? 8y
8little_paws I've actually never kept my kindle in a cover! There is a small scratch on the screen but it doesn't interfere with reading it at least. 8y
Gleefulreader I've had my kindle naked for ages now as it makes it fit in purses much better and is more lightweight. I can even fit it in the back pockets of some jeans (great for trailing my daughter at the theme park this summer). No scratches on screen, and I just bought a decal from Decal Girl to keep the back nice looking. 8y

readinginthedark I don't, but I've seen some cute covers on Etsy recently! 8y
Vexingcircumstance I have an old Kindle keyboard. They don't really get scratched. I do keep mine in a case to make it easier to hold but that's all and I didn't always keep it in one. 8y
Larkken @Gleefulreader -the decal is a good idea... I got a newish one when my 7th gen wouldn't hold a charge to my liking any more, and I like how light it is naked but they do scratch... Maybe they make those screen-only covers like I've seen for iPad for kindles, too? 8y
CoffeeAndABook I like the feel of holding my eReader naked without a snap-on case so I've found a simple very chic felt sleeve to slip it into while it goes everywhere with me ☺️ I'm fairly sure my eReader feels adequately dressed 👗👑 I bought that sleeve in Germany but I'm sure you can get them everywhere! Or even better - make it yourself✂️😉👏 8y
Marchpane I use mine naked these days, never had a problem with scratches. I used to use a makeshift cover by taking a felt or cloth slipcover off a paper notebook 📒 Lots of stationery stores sell nice covered notebooks and it's cheaper than a 'real' cover. 8y
dariazeoli I keep my Paperwhite in a sleeve because I like the naked feel of it. It's worked these past several months! 8y
Theresa I don't remember what generation my Kindle Fire is so I can't say whether the origami cover I have for it is available for your model, but I love that cover! It has a tiny bit of grip to it, just enough to keep it from sliding around, & it folds to create a stand for either vertical or horizontal viewing. 8y
Gleefulreader Ooh - Etsy is really good too for a cheap but cute sleeve. My MIL also made one once for me out a fabric remnant from the craft store. 8y
Well-ReadNeck @Theresa This all came about because Amazon ran out of the origami cover I ordered!!! 👯 I may get the plain black one. But, I'm feeling all kinds of good about my naked reading after hearing I'm not alone!! One of the issues is that my kindle is a slightly older version and not many covers around. Forget ever covering the keyboard version we own!! 😝 (edited) 8y
pocketmermaid I have a skin on my Kindle that I got from DecalGirl.com and I love it! When I travel with it, I put it in an iPad case, because the case has room for the charger and a tiny notebook. 8y
booksbythecup I have a paperwhite and I took the cover off one day for a book photo and sort of never put it back on. It's fine. 😊 8y
booksbythecup @dariazeoli Same here... I took the cover off one day and sort of just liked it 😊 8y
