I got some dental work done on Wednesday and had two temporary crowns put in. They have fallen out. I'm upset, probably to a degree that is greater than warranted. My dentist can't see me until tomorrow morning. Has this happened to anyone else? Am I being ridiculous for getting upset?

L_auren Not AT ALL. Even if it's no one's fault, it makes you feel very helpless and wronged (and your mouth feel odd). So easy to feel sorry for yourself. Let yourself. Hang in there! 7y

bookishkai I had a temp fall out, and my dentist didn't seem to care. I just ended up going without anything until the permanent crown was ready. 7y

Mimi28 You're never ridiculous!! I've never had crowns but had 2 open sockets various other issues because I have to go to a dental school because of my insurance. Hope you feel better and tonight flies by!! ❤️❤️❤️ 7y

ValerieAndBooks Ugh! I had a temporary crown pop off, too. Then when the permanent one went on, it popped off two weeks later! No problems since, though and it's been a couple years since that incident. I'm sorry for your distress and hope all is like new soon. 7y

Mimi28 Wait I think it was a dry socket, lol They were both wisdom teeth. The female student had to use an industrial strength drill to get the top one out and it took 2 hours, then the male student got the bottom one out in minutes, but left bone pieces in the gum. Kinda funny looking back on it. I understand your frustration... 7y

Librarianaut That sounds stressful! I hope it's not painful, too. Hopefully your dentist can set it right tomorrow. TELL THEM If there's pain that doesn't FULLY go away- tomorrow and after the final crown is put on. I learned the hard way about telling when it keeps hurting (had a crown put on top of an unknown fracture in my tooth...a year later the whole tooth had to come out). I ignored the pain all year as it wasn't horrific.. I shouldn't have. 7y

Megabooks @Mimi28 I had to have one of my wisdom teeth cut into three pieces an it took about 1.5 hours to get out. I did them all separately because of my TMJ. Two were impacted. ☹️☹️☹️ I feel ya! 7y

Megabooks @Librarianaut it's been painful all along. I've called them twice about it. Hopefully I can talk to them well tomorrow. And that sounds horrible!! I'm sorry you went through that!!!! 💖💖 7y

EvieBee Yes! One year I had 4 root canals. If you're seeing the dentist tomorrow, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My dentist told me just not to chew too much on whichever side and to avoid hard foods. (edited) 7y

emilyhaldi Yes this happened to me once! I stuck it back in with denture adhesive and it was a good temporary solve as I was visitng my family at our lakehouse for a long weekend and couldn't get to the dentist right away. Plus, my family got a good laugh at the whole thing 😂 7y

faelinwolf I currently have 2 temp crowns. They feel weird, like they're going to fall out & have been so achy. :( I feel your pain. & you have every right to be upset. I hope tomorrow comes quickly! ♡♡♡ 7y

emilyhaldi Yes I am lucky to have a great family and part of what makes it fun is that we all laugh at each other all the time! Trust me, I was definitely mad when my crown first popped out but I looked so ridiculous with a gaping hole in my mouth that eventually I just had to laugh along with everyone 😂 hope you get everything fixed up at your appt today! 👍🏻 7y
