Andrea313 @Jessieleah Both of those are so good! Anna's story is ultimately uplifting, but damn if it doesn't break my heart every time. I love seeing the relationship between Claire and Kate in Mercy Close; really brings Watermelon full circle! 4y

I love Marian Keyes. While on the face of it her books might appear to be your typical fluffy chick lit, they actually include characters with addiction, alcoholism, depression and mental health issues—in other words, there‘s reality inside the pages of these chick books. And she manages to make it all laugh-out-loud funny as well.

andrew61 I have heard her talk several times on podcasts and she is very interesting with a dramatic life, but I've never read her books, i quite fancy trying her, which would you suggest first? 6y

I adore Marian Keyes - she‘s witty, she‘s funny, and yet there‘s an underlying darkness that she tackles in each book. While I‘ve yet to read this one, it features one of the whacky Walsh family members. Helen decides to help an ex find a missing singer. But, she comes face to face with some demons of her own as the case evolves. #BuildingAMystery #TimbitTunes

Librarybelle @TheKidUpstairs @Cinfhen She has the chick lit element, but each of the books I‘ve read by her also have a darker element - abandonment, sudden death. I started reading her during the chick lit craze, so yeah, definitely marketed toward that genre. This one sounds like it could be slightly darker. Maybe Kinsella with more meat? 6y
