⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I felt that “Blood Sworn” was better than its predecessor, “Ashlords”, but it still had its faults. The world-building and the twist with the gods was certainly unique, however certain aspects of the book, the romantic relationships, and most of the character development felt incredibly rushed. I enjoyed the book‘s ending and believe that it provided a solid and satisfying conclusion for this duology.

Overall Rating 3¼⭐ | Narration 😁 = Very Good
The covers for this two-book series are quite stunning, especially this one...unfortunately the story inside didn‘t quite live up to what the cover promised. I‘m not sure what it is with these books that didn‘t end up working for me...I think, maybe, it tries to tackle too many elements and each one ends up suffering because the author isn‘t able to give each one the time it needs to feel fleshed out.

The sequel to Ashlords is wonderful! Though the Races are over, war has broken out across these richly established lands! Following the format of the first book, this one also comes from three perspectives- Imelda & Adrian are still in first-person with Pippa in second - though she comes across as more likable here despite the constraints of this style choice. With continued world-building & a satisfying conclusion, this is a great duology!

“Devlin oversees the proceedings, handing out blasphemous blessings in his robes.”

Sounds like a Depeche Mode lyric. This book is fabulously full of Rebirths and strategic war moves. I‘m fascinated by the Bloodsworn Rebirth!
