Without Rival: Incomparably Made, Uniquely Loved, Powerfully Purposed | Lisa Bevere
11 posts | 7 read | 1 reading | 13 to read
Bold Bible Teacher Empowers Women to Live Free from Comparison and Rivalry In this day of challenge and opportunity, women have been the victims of constant comparison and rivalry. It has robbed the church of the feminine voice and contribution that would make her strong. In a wild, vibrant, and relatable style, Lisa challenges women to: embrace the fact that God loves us uniquely rather than equally realize their undisputed calling reconnect to their divine identity dismantle the rivalries that keep us from God's fullness There has never been a more desperate need for each of us to discover who and why we are a daughter without rival, loved by a God without rival, entrusted with a promise without rival, to complete an assignment without rival, that is destined for an eternity without rival. Includes questions for personal reflection and small group discussion, plus additional questions designed for use with Insights to a Life Without Rival video sessions.

“God loves us uniquely rather than equally… infinitely”

The same way as we love our kids; our love is not divided is multiplied in ways that are immeasurable. I love each of my daughters uniquely. 💕

I got a new Kindle Fire yesterday. (Tough to see the screen, but it's there.😊) I love it so much I bought The Hubby one. ❤️ It's 105 degrees here today. I may die. 🔥 But at least I'll die reading - what a way to go...😎

Sjo_m What a lovely, honest review! Hope you're setting into your new job well and I'm so impressed you're managing to keep up with everything - I couldn't do it!! 8y

I liked this book until the completely off base paragraph on transgender individuals. Unfortunately, I know this is pervasive in my faith, and I choose not to continue reading these books when I come across them.

MatchlessMarie Sorry about creeping on an 4 month old post but.. 🙃I would love to hear more on this. I consider myself a Christian, but an exvangelical currently deconstructing. My sister invited me to do a study at her church on this book and I am very hesitant 😕 7y
maximoffs @MatchlessMarie no worries! I don't remember much but I remember her just speaking about how some people just get SO confused about who they are they think god made mistakes. Or something. But it rubbed me the wrong way. Her husband spoke at my church in LA and it was just..a lot of nope. 7y
maximoffs @MatchlessMarie also not to toot my own horn but...me and a few other Littens are starting a blog about feminist Christianity? Once we get it up and running you may find it interesting? 7y

MatchlessMarie @steverogers Yeah I was shocked that other than your review there is little to no comment in the blogosphere about some of her comments regarding gender identity. I came across a video clip from daystar that I couldn't finish watching that reduced trans folks as confused ppl and used factually incorrect science to back it up 🤦🏻‍♀️ 7y
MatchlessMarie @steverogers Yes I did see the post about the blog. I am def interested and will be following it! 👍It's always refreshing to find Christian feminists who are inclusive of ALL women 🏳️‍🌈 7y
maximoffs @MatchlessMarie the book itself had some really good stuff in it, but the moment I saw that I just.....couldn't do it. I'm really picky about the Christian books I read, because although I want to be challenged, I don't stand for intolerance. So yeah, I'm pretty sure it was over halfway through, if that helps. And yay!!! I'm so glad you feel that way. We're very excited about it, and we hope it's a safe place for all women 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 7y

Kappadeemom Love her!! ❤️ 8y
saresmoore I liked about 75% of this book. She got a little patriarchal preachy in there for a hot minute, but overall, I thought it was very inspirational. She's such a spitfire! 8y
annahenke @saresmoore Interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 8y
annahenke @Kappadeemom This is my first book of hers! 8y
