This was a really fun romance, even if it did give me overwhelming cravings for fresh bread! Reena was a very relatable character for me, and Nadim was adorable ❤

This book is adorable, witty, sexy, and so much fun! If you want a rom-com that will make you smile and believe in true love, read this book. The audio was fantastic, and this was the first book in a while where I found spare moments to listen whenever I could. I will definitely make Farah Heron's next book an automatic TBR add.

Didn‘t like the relationship between the 2 main characters. Big let down because the premise was so good. The heroine was a downer. There were too many lies and secrets. The best part for me was the growth in the relationship between the heroine and her sister.

Farah Heron's writing is like a milkshake - a delicious, delicious milkshake that you can't get enough of. She writes food in a way that leaves me salivating and her humour is spot on. I enjoyed reading Reena's story, though some aspects of the ending felt rushed (the resolution with her sister, for example) but the main story was so satisfying.

This was cute. The story came to a head in the traditional rom-com trope of a couple (we, the readers, know are destined to be together) having their entire future threatened from bad assumptions blown out of proportion. But forgiving that, the Indian-Tanzanian-Canadian characters and culture, Toronto setting, and that food (enter Brian and Al) made for a fun read.

I didn't feel super connected to the relationship and I'm not sure why. I did really love the cooking and family aspects, though.

There is a lot of duplicity in this, for me I found the we have been set up but are fake engaged for the internet baking show, just friends as far as our parents know, but secretly dating in real life pretty amusing. Also, for Ripped Bodice Bingo, would work for Reality TV, This dating is fake, and/or heroine smells like bread.

This 100% applies to me. Sunday‘s are my coveted day of rest and I hold on to them tightly. Picked up this book today as I‘m desperate for something light and fluffy.

Cover? So fun. Premise - fake engaged plus cooking competition plus #ownvoices? Sign me up! Execution? Ugh.

The leads were cute but there were way too many side plots and characters, none of which felt real. This book did not need to be 350 pages - a lot of dead weight could have been cut for a stronger, more character-driven story.

Also, Nadim's foot fetish really threw me for a loop in this relatively non-spicy book so. There's that too.

Accidentally Engaged is a cute romantic comedy about a Muslim woman that fakes an engagement to enter a cooking contest for couples. Accidentally Engaged is cute, funny, and entertaining. Reena is passionate about baking bread and is always cooking. Reena‘s parents want her to marry a nice Muslim boy.

A fun, cultural, and romantic story! Be warned though that you‘ll find yourself craving delicious breads and Indian cuisine because this story‘s incredible authentic in its description of the bread making process and enjoyment of delicious food. The start of the story also sets the tone that you can expect from these characters and that is a bold and honest passion to follow one‘s dreams. Though, there‘d be a few bumps in the road for Reena Manji.

This is the absolute sweetest romance! Reena needs a fiance in order to compete on a cooking competition and her very handsome Nadim would be perfect for the job, except for the fact that Reena's parents want her to marry him.

It's a wonderful story about love, family, and figuring out who you are. I adore the fake dating trope in romance novels, and this story made me feel so many things. I literally couldn't put it down.

3. Pretty sure I'm going to finish Accidentally Engaged today, but before that I read Wrapped up in You by Talia Hibbert in one sitting. I used to stay up all night to finish whatever book I had just started, so I fight that urge now

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You've got neighbors, a rom com where the meet-cute does not involve an embarrassing situation. Interfering parents. A lot of food, particularly bread. Fake relationship.

Oh my gosh this was so cute! But first, a warning; do not read this on an empty stomach! The story was funny and heartwarming and the Brian and Al part had me laughing out loud and texting my friends, because it was so hilarious and because I totally knew what Nadim was saying. I loved that except for the little hitch, because there always has to be a hitch, this was such a solid progression of dislike to friends to more.
