As she is drawn into his underworld, she has a better understanding of his empire and will she be able to take over the reins in a patriarchal world.. more a family saga , with many parallels to the Godfather, this was a riveting read

It's a NOPE from me. Writing was weirdly amateurish. Lots of telling, not much showing. But mainly I just didn't believe it.

None of it.

Especially when the brother is repeatedly run over by several range rovers and walks away with only a tyre print on his cheek to show for it.

Nonsense.

Starting this one this evening. Not my usual bag, but it sounds intriguing. Will probably be my last one of 2022.

Refreshing the palate with a reluctant but invested young Indian woman who takes over the reins of a criminal empire in London. Just goes to show if women ruled the world , things would be a lot better. Solid, entertaining, making of a Godmother.

And these edges. 😍

A good crime read, with some commentary on race relations and justice. A few times you had to make huge leaps of storyline with not much explanation. But overall a solid read.
