This is MF. This book is great for RA for kindergarten or 1st grade. This is from Elephant and Piggie Book Series. Peggie got his ball taken away from the big guy. Peggie goes to ask for help from Gerald. It has a cute ending. This book is Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor book. https://www.rif.org/literacy-central/book/elephant-piggie-big-guy-took-my-ball This website provides activities such as Crisscross, memory matching, and word search.

A Big Guy Took My Ball by Mo Willems a AF, winner of Theodor Seuss Geisel Medals.A great book for DR. It is about a piggy called Piggie ,who‘s ball was taken by a big guy.His friend Gerald the elephant tries to help, but when he goes to get ball is a big whale. In the end the whale was nice and brings back the ball he found. The piggie and the whale felt that cause of their size,no one would play with them. They all end up friends and play together.

ERodriguez A great book to teach about differences and how sometimes we easily can judge a person without knowing what the person is really feeling. The student will reflect on their experiences or feeling about friends, using a a graphic organizer called Venn diagram. When finish they will share with class. http://www.readwritethink.org/parent-afterschool-resources/activities-projects/f... (edited) 6y

RossoS Great book!! I really like the activity that you included, using a Venn diagram for students to reflect on differences and similarities they share with their friends. This book definitely teaches a great lesson. What can I say? Mo Willems has officially become a favorite 🙌 6y
Ordonezk Very good review, I think all kids can relate to feeling like they don‘t belong. I can imagine it being a very good read followed by a thoughtful discussion in the classroom. Thanks for sharing :) 6y
