Sisters, Imogen and Beck, along with their old friend, Tilda, reunite for a week long camping/hiking trip at the Grand Canyon. Imogen has just been through a harrowing experience and Beck hopes the trip will allow three friends to reconnect. Some of the obstacles they face on the trail are stressful enough, but then odd things start to happen and it gets worse. I questioned some of their decisions, but then there wouldn‘t have been a story. I ⬇️

Bookzombie stayed up late on Thursday night because I couldn‘t stop listening. This is the first of Stage‘s books I have read and I will definitely be picking up the others. 2y

Well here's another book I can add to my
"Reasons I Don't Camp" collection.
3 women go camping in the Grand Canyon.
What could possibly go wrong?
First 100 pages were a bit of a slog and I had to suspend my disbelief at the actions this group decided to undertake once warning signs started to appear.
That said, Stage managed to write wonderful characters that you care about (well most of them) which held my interest to the very end.

Really enjoyed this! Zoje Stage is a talented writer, and “Getaway” continues an impressive streak for her. This book is taut, suspenseful, and dark. Definitely not for the squeamish.
