I love this dedication. However, the book was too dark for my taste.

This was assigned for Romance Book Club and, as you know, I'll read whatever is assigned 😂 I need to get over that.

I‘m still not completely comfortable with dark contemporary romance and would probably melt with embarrassment if anyone I knew IRL caught me reading it, but I loved this. Even without the steamy bits, and the mafia violence, this was well-written and engaging. There‘s a well developed plot and the relationship growth between the MCs is believable. It takes inspiration from Hades and Persephone, which is something I can‘t resist.

🌶🍷🔥🥀Dark, spicy, intense romance. Inspired by Hades & Persephone using a mafia hitman & mafia don's daughter marriage plot. it's 5/5 for steam, some of the scenes were repetitive(certain words & phrases were used a lot) I think the description of the longing they had & love development was well written, I really enjoyed the use of poetry. 🚨TW: Forced marriage, Violence, Rough sexual scenes involving blood play, Seduction at a young age.

I loved this retelling and thought it added so many layers to this book. I could not get enough of Kal and Elena and their story. Definitely a spicy story, but there was a lot to this and I really thought it had just enough romance and intimacy mixed with the actual story to make this a page turner that had me up reading late into the night.

First this one is DARK so if you‘re not about your hero being a jerk at times avoid this one. Otherwise grab a cup of tea and have seat! Yeah I‘m all about any Hades and Persephone retelling and this is a solid one but not an in your face take of that makes sense. #hadesandpersephone #romantsy

Hades & Persephone Retelling

Not terrible. I wish there was a little bit more depth with the characters, more emphasis on personalities. The concept and usage of poetry was nice though. Definitely spicy, but repetitive.

Next read. Recommended by Booktok
Have not started it yet. It is supposed to be a play on Persephone & Hades. So I'm looking forward to starting this today!
