5/5🌟 Full of emotion, secrets, and knowledge about making wine; which is a nice bonus if you love visiting vinyards. This reminded me of a good family drama movie where everyone gets together and there is laughing, crying, life lessons, secrets, and dysfunction set in cozy California wine country. I really enjoyed the sentimental value & nostalgia of childhood and family tradition.🍇🍷

✨️I loved this book! The fate of a summer spent working at a gothic medieval museum. Renaissance art history, Greek/Roman mythology, poisonous plants, & tarot cards. The New York setting of parks, punk bars, the Adirondacks, and mentions of Tarrytown. This hit a lot of interests for me and gave an ending I wasn't expecting at all! I love a good shock & awe for a conclusion.🌿

Could not put this down once it got going! I couldn't wait to see how the multiple points of view and inner thoughts from different characters and flashbacks between two different vacations intertwined together. I thought I had it figured out a couple times and was wrong. Great twisty plot.
■TW: Sexual abuse, child neglect, short mentions of self harm and suicide. #winter #mystery

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If only books could win Oscars.. Just spent the last 60 pages trying to hold back tears, I was unsuccessful. Beautifully written. So much emotion and detail and several gasp worthy surprises. When I finished the book, my husband asked if I was okay and I said Yes with tears running down my face, what a read.💚

About halfway through and my old Hollywood heart is so happy. I love black and white movies and this is such a great take on what it was like to become an actress back then. So much emotion and glamour, both good and bad.

I rated this as a "pick" for the plot twist & dual timeline. One is a memory, one is present day. Every other chapter switches between them. The last few entries threw me for a loop, wasn't expecting the story to go that direction. I gasped out loud several times. I was fairly shocked & a little confused. I ended up flipping through past pages to look for any clues to try to figure it out. If it wasnt for the shock & awe i would say this is so-so.

My first Stephen King novel and I was not disappointed!! (Not that I thought I would be). A light who-dun-it with suspense, love, emotion, and a perfect Coney Island feeling amusement park set in the 70s. A little bit of scare but not nearly as much as I thought it would have considering the author. #stephenking #joyland #photography #amusementpark #ferriswheel #horrorhouse #funhouse

I loved these so much. Mad is the first, Bad is the second and Dangerous to know is the third. I haven't ordered the 3rd yet but I am hooked and cannot wait to see how this story ends! If you like the mafia, italy, a little bit of murder mystery and 50 shades of grey, you will love these! Definitely a femme fatale spirited novel. It would make a killer movie or series! #mad #bad #mafia #italy #twins #femmefatale

For eventually, We come to hold our dearest possessions more closely than we hold our friends. We carry them from place to place, often at considerable expense and inconvenience; we dust and polish their surfaces and reprimand children for playing too roughly in their vicinity-all the while, allowing memories to invest them with greater and greater importance.
