I will admit, I knew about Mr. Show but I didn't watch it when it was on. It's on my radar now, though! I was really interested in the writing process & how Odenkirk doesn't shy away from taking risks. 😁

Bob Odenkirk is describing the beginning of his relationship with David Cross. My dad, a retired NYPD sergeant, liked to talk about the time he arrested David Cross for urinating in public. 🤣🤣
1-11-23: My 4th finished book of 2023! I just loved this. I‘m a big fan of Odenkirk. I loved him in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul and look forward to seeing him in the new TV show , Lucky Hank on AMC. This memoir was down to earth and very honest about the downfalls of working in the TV/Film industry but he is very humble and funny about his work thus far. Highly recommend if you are into that world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣4️⃣
I‘ve always liked this guy. I just didn‘t like his memoir all that much. A recitation of his many successes and failures, a who‘s who of all the folks he worked with. Grabbed it on Libby on an impulse and consider it an accomplishment that I managed to finish it.
Listening to the cynical and dryly hilarious Bob Odenkirk while stretching my legs at the office. He chronicles his time writing on SNL, in Hollywood created cult comedy, and grinding away at failed projects before finding himself in a dramatic role on Breaking Bad. His sheer enthusiasm for the work and disinterest and fame is admirable. My guess is he‘s a hard person to work with, but willing to meet the high standards he holds others to.
🎧I loved, loved, loved this! Definitely do the audio version. Doesn‘t matter if you know or watch any of his stuff. One of my favorites this year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Took a walk and finished an audiobook! I enjoyed listening to Bob Odenkirk tell his story. He‘s a funny guy! I love him as Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill and he seems to be authentic. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #JoysofJune book 2.
Started a new audible while out on a walk. 😂 I feel like this is going to be well worth listening to. I hear Saul Goodman with every sarcastic thing he says!
66/150 One of the best audiobooks I've listen to this year. Odenkirk is an amazing writer/narrator, with his dry, self deprecating sense of humor. You don't have to be a fan of Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul to enjoy this. I really didn't watch much of either, but I LOVED Mr. Show years ago on HBO. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2nd book finished for #MarvellousMay @Andrew65
1. Sea of Tranquility (fiction) and tagged book (non-fiction)
2. I like instrumental or classical music. No lyrics, they break my concentration.
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView #Two4Tuesday
This was an easy read by Bod Odenkirk. Besides Braking Bad and Better Called Saul, I did not know too much about his acting career. He was very open in his sucess and fails of the business.
I loved this memoir of the craft. I have been obsessed with Odenkirk since his days on Mr. Show. What a career of struggle and triumph. At book‘s end he shows a great deal of gratitude for specific collaborators who brought out the joy in the creative process: Del Close, Adam Sandler, and Steven Spielberg. What a diverse group.
Book 68
2. YES! Longest-running show of all time.
3. On my TBR; can't believe I haven't read it yet.
Thanks for playing! 🤩🤗😃 1y
