A compulsively gripping lockdown thriller by the bestselling author of The One Who Got Away On the eve of the global lockdown, Don Barlow opens the door of his old beachside cottage to find a pretty girl with pink-tipped hair, claiming to be his granddaughter. She needs help and has nowhere else to go. He welcomes her in, and so begins a mystery set in unprecedented times: with the virus raging outside their home, the girl cannot be asked to leave, but what does he risk by having her stay? As Don and the girl start to forge a bond, Don's adult daughter has her own suspicions about what the newcomer is after. But, unable to travel, how can she protect Don and discover if the girl really is who she claims to be? Praise for Caroline Overington: 'Deft, dramatic and psychologically astute' Saturday Age 'Overington keeps you guessing until the last' Daily Telegraph 'Caroline Overington has an ability to home in on the darker, unsettling sides of life, seizing upon topics you might see headlining the news and spinning them into gripping page-turners.' I listened to this audio book during my commute to take my baby JuJuB for his surgery appointment. Now, I'm stuck waiting and feeling anxious. The book was quite interesting, with its COVID lockdown theme. Even though I didn't have to experience a lockdown due to the nature of my job, I can imagine I would have gone stir-crazy if I had to. #AudioCommute #AudibleBacklog

CBee What‘s up with JujuB?? Hope nothing serious ♥️ 9mo

ElizaMarie @CBee he had to have his eye removed. He has cataracts in both eyes and his L eye had glaucoma and it wasn't getting better with drops. They removed it to preserve his quality of life so he isn't in pain so much. 9mo
ElizaMarie He is 14 on March 1st; slightly deaf - but also stubborn and ignores me — and well he has been blind or near bind for the last year 9mo
CBee @ElizaMarie oh bless his heart!! Did surgery go okay?? 9mo
ElizaMarie @CBee he did really well. He is snoring right now in my lap. I was so emotional all day (drove 2hrs to appointment so I left at 6am and I couldn't pick him up till 5pm) so yeah. It was a rough day. But we have the day tomorrow to just chill :) 9mo
CBee @ElizaMarie I‘m so glad ♥️♥️♥️ 9mo
KateReadsYA So while looking into picks for my #lmpbc group I found these to recommend to you. I didn't want to do it on my post because I didn't want to confuse the girls and have them think they were my choices. Have you read any of these yet??! 9mo
ElizaMarie @KateReadsYA Ooo I haven't. I just added them to my TBR though :)

MemoirsForMe Great to chat today! Do you have a pug and a Frenchie? 9mo
ElizaMarie @UwannaPublishme i have 2 Frenchie (boys), pug (girl), border collie mix (boy) and a black kitty (boy) 9mo
MemoirsForMe How cool! You are surround by so many adorable fur babies. We‘re hoping to get a pug one of these days. 9mo
ElizaMarie @UwannaPublishme JuJuB is my little old man (going to be 14 in March), I brought him into this relationship, Maverick (border collie mix) was my husbands dog he brought in - also older maybe 10, we don't know because he was dumped at my husbands neighborhood many years ago, Conor (other frenchie) is 7 he was our “baby together“; Zoey (frenchie) is 9 she was adopted from a breeder that didn't want her anymore because she can't have more babies (edited) 9mo
ElizaMarie @UwannaPublishme and Lobster (our black kitty) we just got adopted from the humane society about a year ago; he is huge (16 pounds) and has been a “seeing eye dog/cat“ for JuJuB, he won't let JuJuB get lost in corners - JuJu doesn't like him though and snaps at him when he realizes what's going on, but... he is better able to navigate because Lobster helps him. 9mo

This would have to be the fastest book I‘ve ever read, straight to the point, it wasn‘t draw dropping but it‘s a good little beach read
