My introduction to this series,Dorset Crime Book 1,does not disappoint. The complicated DCI Lesley Clarke has been transferred from a fast paced city force to the slower paced rural Dorset. Immediately a murder occurs at the archeological dig at Corfe Castle. The obvious mistrust from her team is her biggest challenge as they work to solve the case. Her team are diverse in temperament & personality; their interactions are highlights of the book.

A book that started off well with an interesting premise, and introducing new characters. Wasn‘t sure how some of the characters of the team would fit together at first but this was resolved for me as the book progressed. A slow burn initially but picked up great pace towards the end.
Think I have found a new series to get lost in! Can see some markers about the series being put out towards the end and keen to see where they go.

Starting off a new series set in Dorset, The Dorset Crime Series. Only a few chapters in but enjoying the opening feel of the book. @Tove_Reads @EadieB

33/22 This one was fine but it didn‘t have me gripped enough and I felt like it really slowed down my reading this month. It was nice to read about somewhere I had just visited, but the characters felt like a load of interesting traits thrown together as opposed to actual rounded characters and the ending was a bit predictable 2.5⭐️

It‘s been a busy weekend celebrating fathers and meeting transformers (we took the kiddos to Comicon) so not a lot of reading has been happening. But now I‘m tucked up in bed with 20% of the tagged book left to read, a cuppa and a lobster tail (Sfogliatelle) and that is a pretty good way to finish the weekend!

I managed my goal of finishing my first holiday read this week (review to follow) so that I could get started on this book whilst I‘m still in Dorset. I love reading about a place I‘m in. Especially if it‘s a place I don‘t know well enough to pick up on all the inaccuracies (which drive me bananas!) here‘s a pic of me and 2 of my pickles in West Bay trying not to look freezing 🥶 😂

My fave time of the week 🤣 Let‘s tease @TrishB @Andrew65 and @EadieB with some intriguing books and authors I haven‘t read yet. They all sound good. So many books… need to quit my job😂
