This book was a bit silly. Set in Italy, a town needs plumbing to be fixed but they need 70k euros. Dante starts a rumor that they‘ll be filming a movie and needs funding. He gets the funding from what I‘m assuming is a mafia man. They then have to make the movie. This is a bit of a silly book I think and it‘s a low pick.

A funny little novel about a mayor trying to save his town against all odds. Highly recommended as a beach read or an uplifting moment in your life!

I found this story to be more of a folktale with lively colorful characters. Signor Speranza has ideas and proposed solutions to the town‘s financial problem that are ridiculous. It soon becomes difficult for him to keep all his lies straight.
Although he seems to feel guilty by all his deception he can‘t seem to stop once he starts building this story which will fall like a house of cards!

Happy Publication Day!! This fun & fast read is a delight! Narrated by Signor Speranza, mayor & owner of a vacuum repair store in the village of Prometto, Italy (population: 212), the Water inspector provides horrible news- the pipes for the village must be replaced. The sum of money required is more than the town has… but it‘s not long before Signor Speranza hatches a scheme to save theme! Who knew a fart machine would work so well in a book?! 🤣

This is a charming little book. Be prepared to suspend reality as there are some silly antics, but they made me smile. Uplifting and heartwarming. I loved the quirky characters and found myself rooting for Signor Speranza. This was a truly entertaining read. A quick read.
