so-soThis one was a disappointment. Look at that gorgeous cover!! The premise sounded so interesting - an AU Spain where people fight dragons instead of bulls. But the pacing was just terrible and the world-building scattered. I clocked the villain the second he appeared. I dragged myself through this one, hoping that it was going to get better, and it just never did. I've enjoyed other books by this author, but this one didn't click for me.

pickHappy Publication Day! This YA fantasy blends a Spanish-influences landscape with dragons -& flamenco dancing! It‘s a fun & fast read. There‘s plenty of action, a stubborn heroine and a great love of family here. The romance may be a bit predictable- and some may guess at the true villain, & spot some plot-holes, but all in all this is entertaining & dragon-filled! It‘s always nice to see fantasy inspired by somewhere other than feudal England!
