I couldn't resist picking up book 2 in this series, mainly just to see what would happen to Carl and Donut next. On level 3 they have a chance to pick a new form & skills, face new (disgusting) enemies & take on quests for valuable loot. The heart of the series, though, remains Carl & Donut's buddy comedy chemistry. Even as they fight to stay alive in a game that's trying to kill them, they maintain their essential humanity/catitude, respectively.
The second definitely doesn‘t disappoint after the first.
Carl and Princess Doughnut get to the third floor with Mongo in tow and they get to pick their new races and classes. They also get sucked into a soap opera that revolves around a creepy circus and a quest that started with a bunch of dead women.
Lots of humor, lots of nerdiness, and lots of explosions.
If you liked the first book, this book is just as amazing. Honestly, this book has been near impossible to put down, and I can‘t wait for one more credit from Audible so I can jump into the next one.
This book is just over the top crazy, harder villains, bigger explosions, and even more Princess Donut. What's not to love?
🎧 TW - swearing, MDK, adult situations.
If you liked book one you‘ll like book two. More hilarious and dangerous shenanigans! Carl & Princess Donut have a manager on level 3. Mando has grown & is better behaved. More leveling up and let downs, quests & explosions. I continue to love this series. I‘m going to look for book three.
