How sexy is my husband shelving his books on one of our new shelves? I think it‘s awful sexy. 💓. He used to read a lot of Glen Cook, Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, and similar. These days he‘s not much of a reader. 🤷‍♀️

Jennick2004 Those are gorgeous shelves!! 6y
Soubhiville @Jennick2004 thanks! We got them from a friend who is moving. It‘s nice to have the shelf space! 6y
AmyG I love your shelves...the beautiful color! And who doesn‘t love a man with books!! 6y

JacqMac #HusbandsOfLitsy for the win! Love the shelves. 6y
Soubhiville @LibrarianRyan @tamra @WanderingBookaneer @AmyG the shelves are actually pretty lightweight, not super sturdy, we‘ll have to secure them to the wall for safety. But the friends who gave them to us had spray painted them “sea foam”. I like the color too! 6y
LauraBeth Love the color! 6y
Gissy So cute that he is helping in something that is important to you!💏 6y

#HipHobbInto2018 @GrilledCheeseSamurai

My favorite fantasy book? Way too hard to choose. But those are some of my "hidden gems", and of course the almighty master Terry Pratchett (Pyramids is not my favorite by him, but the first one I found in my moving boxes). The Lies of Locke Lamora is one of the books I reread every few years, along with The Name of the Wind.

Btw, what's your favorite fantasy book?

GrilledCheeseSamurai Great picks! I still haven't read that Glen Cook series. It's been on my radar forever now. Gonna have to stack it to help remind me. I don't really have 1 absolutely favorite...but the Memory Sorrow and Thorn trilogy by Tad Williams is one that means alot to me! 7y
Cheshirecat913 I got my husband the Black Company books one Christmas. Still haven't read them myself though. 7y
Sisasuku @GrilledCheeseSamurai I dimly remember starting the Dragonbone Chair about 15 years ago and finding it incredibly boring. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime. Back in those days I mostly read fast paced "shallow" fantasy stuff. 7y
Sisasuku @GrilledCheeseSamurai @Cheshirecat913 I had a bit of a hard time getting into the first book of the Black Company, but after some time I was hooked! Read the whole series without taking a break for another book. If not for my mountainous TBR pile I'd do a complete reread of the series. 7y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @Sisasuku Haha. You aren't the first to say that you found the Dragonbone Chair boring. Tad Williams is a very wordy author and not to everyones taste. 🙃 7y

I've heard this book is excellent and highly recommended, so I'm looking forward to giving it a read!

DuckOfDoom What is it about? 8y
mahasoor @DuckOfDoom it follows an elite company for forty years, and I've heard it's as engaging as Erikson's bridgeburners. I really enjoy the military dark fantasy fiction mix, so I have hopes for this. Haven't read it yet so I can't be anything but vague yet lol sorry 😸 8y
mahasoor High hopes I should say 8y
DuckOfDoom That's ok 👻 Military dark fantasy sure sounds interesting. i look forward to your review 😊 8y

The Black Company books are one of the foundation stones of modern fantasy. The nightmarish march of the Black Company leaves the bloodied corpses of friend and foe in its wake. Utterly compelling, extremely dark, a fantasy masterwork.
