Story Keeper
Story Keeper | Lisa Wingate
From the #1 New York Times author of Before We Were Yours!"Wingate is, quite simply, a master storyteller. Her story-within-a-story, penned with a fine, expressive style, will captivate writers and nonwriters alike." --Booklist"Not since To Kill a Mockingbird has a story impacted me like this." --Colleen Coble, USA Today bestselling author of Seagrass PierSuccessful New York editor Jen Gibbs is at the top of her game with her new position at Vida House Publishing--until a mysterious manuscript from an old slush pile appears on her desk. Turning the pages, Jen finds herself drawn into the life of Sarra, a mixed-race Melungeon girl trapped by dangerous men in turn-of-the-century Appalachia. A risky hunch may lead to The Story Keeper's hidden origins and its unknown author, but when the trail turns toward the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a place Jen thought she'd left behind forever, the price of a blockbuster next book deal may be higher than she's willing to pay.2015 winner of both a Christy Award and a Carol Award.

Lisa Wingate has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I have loved everything I‘ve read by her and this is no exception. It‘s a book about family, love, stories and the people of Appalachia.

Book 3 for #marchunshelving @Clwojick

Letter S for #litsyAtoZ

SaturnDoo I have a couple of her books on my TBR...thinking maybe I should read them soon 🙂 5y

This book. It‘s been a while since I‘ve been sucked in like this. I first got it as an audiobook. Then, I got hooked and found myself listening to it while doing things around the house. Then, it was Friday, and I knew I couldn‘t take it anymore so I got the book version. I can‘t put my finger on it, but I fell in love with Jen. Wonderful book. Looking forward to more by this author

This book was so good. A story of Appalachia, how many multi racial and ethnic groups that live there. The story of History, hope and books.

Bailedbailed

I tried this on audiobook and had to bail today. I just did not care for the narrator for the story part and could not keep focused. I see this has great reviews in various places, so I will keep my eye out for the book itself. I am weird with audiobooks. I have to really work at them sometimes. The wrong narrator or content can make it impossible for me to focus.

Coco I just recently bailed on an audio too, gonna try the print version like u! 7y
