Bluescreen is a stunning deluge of imagination, filled with suspense and twists and unforgettable characters. This book is just plain awesome.James Dashner, bestselling author of The Maze RunnerFrom Dan Wells, author of the New York Times bestselling Partials Sequence, comes the first book in a new sci-fi-noir series. Los Angeles in 2050 is a city of open doors, as long as you have the right connections. That connection is a djinnia smart device implanted right in a persons head. In a world where virtually everyone is online twenty-four hours a day, this connection is like oxygenand a world like that presents plenty of opportunities for someone who knows how to manipulate it.Marisa Carneseca is one of those people. She might spend her days in Mirador, but she lives on the netgoing to school, playing games, hanging out, or doing things of more questionable legality with her friends Sahara and Anja. And its Anja who first gets her hands on Bluescreena virtual drug that plugs right into a persons djinni and delivers a massive, nonchemical, completely safe high. But in this city, when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is, and Mari and her friends soon find themselves in the middle of a conspiracy that is much bigger than they ever suspected.

This Sci-Fi thriller was fun and mysterious, I really enjoyed the world building and the setting on 2050 Los Angeles. There were a lot of diverse characters which I liked, and I liked how the book was focused on friendship rather than romance (though I personally would have liked more romance). The ending was unexpected and resolved well, though left on a massive cliffhanger so I'm looking foward to reading the sequel in the future.

I really enjoyed this one! YA science fiction where most everyone's brain is wired directly to the internet. The MC's were pretty luck-ass. And I didn't hate reading on a screen. I picked a fast-paced, easy read to test out reading on a kindle before I bought one. Checking books out from my library is clunky and involves too many steps, but reading the book was easy and the paper-white never seemed to strain my eyes.

I really liked this one. The writing style was really fun to read. I loved the futuristic setting. Plus the main character was BA. I'll definitely read the others in the series.

AHHHHH I can't wait for the next book. I loved it. The futuristic vibe and electronic prowess demonstrated by the BA female protagonist was so cool (especially because I'm terrible with computers).
