I liked the idea of this book...but not the result. It's written in third person and if it's not done damn near perfectly *cough* The Charm Offensive/Queer Principles/RW&RB *cough* then it can be hard to connect with the characters. And let me tell you...I didn't connect.
Also the way things were said in this book confused me a little bit and I just found it hard to follow. I really wanted to like this one but it just didn't hold my attention 😕.

Griff Muir is somewhat perturbed when his best friend decides to do porn to supplement his income as it stirs up feelings he would rather not acknowledge.

It is a tribute to Damon Suede's story-telling powers that I kept reading this all the way through as I had taken a decided dislike to both the main characters by the end of chapter 1 so I will give it a reluctant so-so, though it came close to a bail several times.

I think for most people the better sex they‘ve had is with someone they‘ve loved. In Hot Head we follow Griff and the object of his obsession, affection, desire, fellow firefighter, straight guy, Dante. Dante has some financial struggles and comes up with a scheme to do some online modeling. He can get more $ if he can get a friend to appear with him. Enter Griff. There was so much inner dialogue and struggle it had me choking up a little. And👇🏼

This was wasn't for me. I tried and I liked Griffin, and Dante sometimes is funny and likeble too, but... I wasn't in to it, sadly. Maybe I would try in another moment or maybe not...

Well that was... super intense. Not in a bad way, just some *seriously* steamy bits happening here. I'm blushing even as I post this 😳. Definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you read M/M romance I've been told that Damon Suede is a must. This was my first of his but it won't be my last!

Loved this so much. I can definitely see why it's on several romance lists and I'm thrilled I finally read it! It's sweet, the characters ate well-developed, it's fucking HOT (and there's hot fucking), it's emotional, and it feels believable, despite its high stakes and genre elements.

I can't believe this is the first time I'm reading Damon Suede considering I've read and loved A LOT of gay m/m romances! I'm excited to finally be reading his work considering his popularity and importance to the genre. I really loved his conversation with Faith Salie on Audible's Authorized series, too, which motivated me to go grab one of his books asap.

Holy lord this book is intense. The realism of being a gay couple and the romance lends depth to the story. The bedroom activities are gritty and intense.

I will be completely frank: I only read this for the sexy bits. I am certain there is a plot somewhere, about two closeted New York firefighters, but I skimmed it all to get to the good parts. Which were very good. It hit the spot.
