pickThis is the first Vinyl Cafe book I've read since Stuart McLean's passing, and that just made this piece more poignant. McLean's stories are simple and classic. They are laugh-out-loud hilarious; they pull at your heartstrings; and they make you smile at the small, truly important, things in life. My favourite #Canadian author, he will be missed.

I went to a consignment shop today and picked up this cute record table for $15. I plan on refinishing the top. It goes with my other record cabinet I use as a TV stand. I have a little retro bar on top (with my retro bar books), and some of my photography books in the record slots.

I meant to post this the other day. On the 15th, one of my favourite personalities passed away. The Vinyl Cafe broadcast, books and recordings have made me laugh and cry. Every Christmas we hear about Dave and his turkey, and Morley and her Christmas concert. We listen to stories of the kids growing up, of mishaps and memories, of this country I am so blessed to call home. He will be so missed.
RIP - I just heard the sad news while driving home. I loved Stuart McLean's short stories and his radio show. I was lucky to attend one of his live Christmas shows.
