#Pemberlittens It's time for #JaneAdjacent Book Club!

1️⃣ New read. Print, Kindle, and Audiobook. When I picked this I was looking for an Austen retelling for Pride. I didn't realize it was Time Travel. Love that!👇

Crinoline_Laphroaig 2️⃣ Matthew - ‘Tears sting at my eyes as I pull him into a hug, grateful for this prim-and-proper guy who showed me that Prince Charming could have a bit of a wild side.

3️⃣ Runaway Bride on horseback.👇

Crinoline_Laphroaig 4️⃣ “I pray to Jane Austen herself for strength.”

“And there‘s no denying I feel kind of unexpectedly cool right now. Like I‘m Keira Knightley in a period drama, about to gaze forlornly out a window or cry a single tear in a bumpy carriage.”

“And I‘ll ruin the plot of every good book published for the next fifty years. Jane Austen? Louisa May Alcott? The Brontë sisters? Ruined. You‘ll curse my name until the day you die!”

Crinoline_Laphroaig 5️⃣ When I first heard Dutch Reach, my mind immediately went to @FictionalHangover discussion of a sex scene in the Dead to the World Episode. And everyone I asked immediately thought it was something kinky, not a safer way to open a car door. 😂

Crinoline_Laphroaig 6️⃣ Go to the Past and get Jane Austen to tell me what happened in the last unfinished novel, Sanditon. Or read all of Jane's letters before Cassandra burned them.

7️⃣ While it wouldn't be fun to have your opinions ignored, I'm going with Regency because even if you can say whatever you want it's High School. Doesn't mean it's going to be fun.

8️⃣ Artist. I would love to be able to sketch.

Crinoline_Laphroaig 9️⃣ Really made me think of how horrible a woman's life can be when she is at the mercy of men. Also with how terrible Lucy's father was, it was nice to see Audrey's family being so loving. I liked that it was never really explained how Time Travel worked. It just was.

julieclair I didn‘t get to this one this month 😕, but I still want to, so I will avoid the discussion to prevent spoilers. 😎 6mo
Crinoline_Laphroaig @julieclair no worries! I won't tag you in discussion post. Just pop back to it whenever you're ready. I completely understand. I've read less this month than I have in long time. 6mo

Ended up with 7 bingoes but just couldn‘t finish this one. I gave it try, just not for me. Slow and steady doesn‘t always win the race for me when it comes to a book. #hailthebail Still a great month! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Fantastic month!!! Although it's always sad to end on a bummer note! 6mo

This was my #doublespin for January, & Circle prompt for #ISpyBingo.

It‘s always fun to find books that refer to places you know, so when I heard about this I had to read it. I‘ve never read Pride & Prejudice, so I can‘t make comparisons, but I liked the romance between the two MC‘s.

This was fun! Lucy and Audrey's journeys felt very accurate to their characters and settings, and I felt the romance of it all, especially when Lucy BROKE DOWN A FREAKING DOOR??? A very charming romance. #yahistoricalromance #yalit

"Pride And Prejudice And Pittsburgh" by Rachael Lippincott. 9,8/10 rating.
It was quite a simple storyline, but so lovely, and full of beauty that I could not put it down. It was the only teen-romantic novel that I enjoyed, partly because it involves travelling to the past. If you are a queer teen who finds traditional romance books cringe, this one is for you, believe me. I strongly recommend it.
