Although this is one of my favorite authors, I didn‘t buy this immediately when it was released. I was hesitant to read a story about passengers on the Titanic. After all, we know basically what happened. I was wrong. This is a well written, thoroughly researched novel about family dynamics and the choices we make - not only how they affect us, but those around us. Definitely worth reading.
Reading time in doctor‘s office, with both hubby‘s Kindle and mine on my lap while he‘s having his procedure. Getting lots of reading done.
I had started a book not in the database, a historical romance that was described as steamy. I bailed. I‘m no prude, but it was just over the top. Instead, I‘m going to start this new novel by one of my favorite authors.
I just finished Sisters of Fortune by Anna Lee Huber -- a contemporary romance that takes place on The Titanic. This got me wondering, “Which ship really sank?” Leaving me wanting to read Titanic or Olympic: Which Ship Sank?: The Truth Behind the Conspiracy by Steve Hall, Bruce Beveridge, Art Braunschweiger. I wonder where that will lead me. Stay tuned ...

This is a favorite series author‘s first foray into writing a stand-alone novel. It is based on the true story of the Fortune sisters, three young women, who along with their parents and younger brother, set sail on the maiden voyage of the Titanic as the finale of a Grand Tour of Europe.
We are treated to life viewpoints from each sister: Flora, the dutiful and oldest, who is somewhat ambivalently returning home to a fiancé of whom her ?
