THE RETURN OF FIN MACLEOD, PETER MAY'S MUCH-LOVED HERO OF THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING LEWIS TRILOGY. A MURDER The body of eighteen-year-old TV personality Kathleen is found abandoned on a remote beach at the head of An Loch Dubh - the Black Loch - on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. A swimmer and canoeist, it is inconceivable that she could have drowned. A SECRET Fin Macleod left the island ten years earlier to escape its memories. When he learns that his married son Fionnlagh had been having a clandestine affair with the dead girl and is suspected of her murder, he and Marsaili return to try and clear his name. A TRAP But nothing is as it seems, and the truth of the murder lies in a past that Fin would rather forget, and a tragedy at the cages of a salmon farm on East Loch Roag, where the tense climax of the story finds its resolution.

Happy Christmas Eve Eve! I‘m not going to finish anything else by tomorrow night, so here‘s my wrap up for #Adventathon which as usual did not go entirely as planned. But that‘s okay!

I finished three books from my original list plus two more. The tagged book plus three more from various libraries are riding around in my car waiting for me to get (back) to them.

The Frozen River became available earlier than expected, so I pivoted to it for now.

Susanita I also decided to move from Goodreads to StoryGraph, and I‘ve been laboriously scrubbing my data while watching TV and such. 🤪 1mo
BookmarkTavern Wow! Very impressive! I‘m also on StoryGraph! Same username! 1mo

1. Several years ago I developed a personal holiday tradition. On the way home from Christmas Eve service, I take a different route so I can see a historic bridge that‘s decorated with lights. I like to park across the street and sit quietly in my car for a few moments of calm and peace.

2. I‘m looking forward to reading the tagged book once I finish December book club selections.

The body of eighteen-year-old TV personality Caitlin is found abandoned on a remote beach at the head of A Loch Dubh - the Black Loch - on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. EadieB I was enjoying reading your new novel, The Black Loch, but found an unnecessary mention of Donald Trump in the book. I feel as though two assassination attempts is reason enough to not mention him in a book. Otherwise, the book is very well written. Although it is read as the 4th book in the trilogy, it is easily read as a standalone. If you like books about a murderer on an island, then you will love reading this book. Highly recommended! I loved it! The best thing to do is to read the old books and then continue with this one. So many characters from back in the days, and so much history. This book was great, but also heartbreaking. Peter May is a magnificent writer, and his characters are so believable and flawed that sometimes it chills my bones. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#netgalley

Oh WOW!!! Book number 4 in the Lewis trilogy (all trilogies seem to be 4 or 5 books nowadays… 🫣). But, tbh this is one of my top three trilogies of all time!!! So, thinking I need to reread. Rarely do it, but seems appropriate now.

Andrew65 Can‘t wait for this. I‘m with you let;s re-read the trilogy first. One of my favourite trilogies too. 9mo
andrew61 I wasn't aware of a new part in this series, which I loved, definitely keep my eyes peeled, thanks. 9mo
EadieB @Tove_Reads @Andrew65 Great trilogy! Glad he is writing another book! 9mo
