A Woman in Charge
A Woman in Charge | Carl Bernstein
11 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
The nuanced, definitive biography of one of the most controversial and widely misunderstood figures of our time: the woman running a historic campaign as the 2016 Democratic presidential nomineeHillary Rodham Clinton. Drawing on hundreds of interviews with colleagues and friends and with unique access to campaign records, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and bestselling author Carl Bernstein has given us a book that enables us, at last, to address the questions Americans are insistentlyeven obsessivelyasking: Who is she? What is her character? What is her political philosophy? And, what can we expect from Hillary if we elect her President of the United States?

It wasn‘t MY fault that the AT&T store only allowed three customers in at a time and it was too cold for me to wait outside for my husband. And that the used bookstore down the street was warm and cozy so I had to spend extra time browsing in there. Which resulted in this impressive #bookhaul.

#blameitonthehusband 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nute No, that‘s not your fault at all. That, my Dear, is the proper alignment of the stars!💫 ✨ 😜 3y

My current read is a biography of Hillary Rodham Clinton. The very first line features the end of Bill Clinton's impeachment trial. I hope history remembers her more as the first female presidential candidate nominated by a major party and not just as "the wife of". #aprilbookshowers

Hillary Clinton has become a powerful role model and feminist guide for me over the past year. The more I learn about her, the deeper I identify with her, and the more passionate I feel about her. This is a very comprehensive biography that is balanced, and I think is a must-read nowadays.

sprainedbrain I'm still with her. 👍 7y

Hillary Clinton, First Lady on her own terms. Good reminder that if you don't like the restrictions of your job, you can change them.

Ending 2016 by reading about one badass role model before starting 2017 reading about another. This was the year I fully embraced a give-no-fucks, activist form of feminism and have found strength in women I admire. I regret spending my teens and twenties being resentful of girls and women I thought were stronger and more successful than I was. I wish instead I had become their friends and learned from them.

Foxyfictionista I have the same regrets. I used to be such an idiot but I now give zero fucks and am embracing my badassness. 💪💃 7y
Kat.Kao @Foxyfictionista Internalized misogyny is so powerful, ugh. But we are angry feminists now, which is the important thing. (edited) 7y
