Things are happening fast for the Wakefield twins. The biggest party of the year is coming up. If Jessica can get "un-grounded" in time, she'll be able to go. Elizabeth is entering a statewide essay contest, hoping to win the $100 prize. And both twins are putting in extra time on their special school projects. Cute, smart, and popular Tom McKay is in Jessica's work group. His antisocial brother, Dylan, is in Elizabeth's. Dylan feels that he will never be as good as his brother. So why should he even bother to try? Elizabeth really wants to prove to Dylan that he can be the best at something, too. But can she help him without coming between two brothers?

The 6th & 7th grade class project has each group of students starting a business. Jess is elected president in hers and has about 6 VPs under her 😆 but she has to get a good grade or won‘t be able to go to Kimberley‘s party. Meanwhile, Liz, the patron saint of lost causes, has a new project: Dylan McKay. He‘s the surly older brother of the very popular Tom McKay and he doesn‘t fit in. He‘s a loner & very jealous of all the attention his little⬇️

JenlovesJT47 Bro Tom gets. Liz tries to befriend him when he is assigned to her team in the group project, but no matter what she tries Dylan rebuffs her. Liz sneakily enters his essay into a statewide competition even though he told her to throw it away. Liz & Tom just barely catch Dylan at the bus station, where he‘s about to board a bus for San Francisco and run away from Sweet Valley. Liz informs him he won 1st prize for his essay, he is belatedly ⬇️ 2mo
JenlovesJT47 Invited to Kimberley‘s party, and all is right once again in the world of Sweet Valley. 😆 4⭐️ #SweetValley #SweetValleyTwins #SVT #twins #nostalgia #HauntedShelf #FrightClub #TBRread @Jadams89 2mo
JenlovesJT47 @TorieStorieS oh the scream I scrumpt when Amy tells Liz, “Do you have to be nice to everybody?!” 😅 Finally, someone says it! And I love it when Amy‘s high school personality shows through in these books. 😬 2mo
TorieStorieS 🤣🤣🤣 I know!! I always appreciate when Elizabeth‘s called out for her goody-two-shoes, saintly behavior!! 2mo

To be able to go Kimberly Haver‘s party, Jessica needs a good grade on the student project of creating their own companies. Jessica starts a boutique. Elizabeth publishes a book of student writing. Dylan McKay feels like a loser compared to his athletic younger brother, Tom. Liz is the only one who is nice to him. When she discovers he‘s a good writer, she intervenes. When Dylan discovers that he‘s not invited to the party, he runs away!

JenlovesJT47 So dramatic! 😆 That‘s why I love Sweet Valley 🤓 4mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I know!!! There‘s also some series discontinuity here because they mention that the McKays are relatively new to Sweet Valley… but Tom was in their second grade class!! 4mo
JenlovesJT47 How funny! Tom is also in SVH and he‘s the first gay character as far as I know. 4mo

TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 Didn‘t Amy Sutton have a crush on him in SVH? I am looking forward to (eventually!) getting there! 4mo
JenlovesJT47 I can‘t remember if it was Amy or someone else. I read it a couple of years ago. I think he goes to Project Youth for counseling there and Amy works there. I‘ll have to dig through my reviews and I‘ll let you know which book. 4mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I only remember him being good at tennis and Amy following him there or finagling her way into doubles? I really don‘t remember, but would be interested to hear what you dig up, since I am not sure when I‘ll get to that one! At this rate, probably not this year! I saw something that said there were over 600 total books in the series which doesn‘t sound right but I guess it could be!! 😬 4mo
JenlovesJT47 600 sounds about right! SV Kids, SVT, Unicorn Club, SV Jr. High, SVH, SVH Senior Year, SVU, Elizabeth series, SV Confidential and The Sweet Life! Plus 6 graphic novels! 😳 There are also those two Team Sweet Valley books, did you ever track those down? I have one of them but was never able to find the second one when they came out. 4mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 When you list them that way, it does sound right!! I do have the two Team Sweet Valley books, and I am starting to get the SV Jr High ones now (though I only found the first one so far at the used book store— it was the only one they had which made the find all the more exciting!). I will probably resort to the Internet for the rest though! I have alerts set for those unicorn club books, but the last one is still $150! 4mo
JenlovesJT47 Holy cow $150?! 😱 that‘s crazy. I know I have duplicates of some of the Jr. High ones. I swear I will send them your way if I ever get access to them again. Sigh 😌 4mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 It‘s actually come down in price… it was over $300 when I first started looking! And there‘s definitely time! The Jr. High series comes after The Unicorn Club, right? I never read any of them so I guess I am not sure how they fit in! 4mo
JenlovesJT47 Did you ever read Senior Year? Yeah the Jr. High comes after Unicorn Club. I only read the first one but if they‘re anything like Senior Year they are much more realistic and follow a more linear timeline. I love the SY books. 4mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I read about the first 30 books of SY as they were published (I was also still guiltily buying and reading SVU then as I also got ready to graduate high school). I remember loving the broadening of perspectives and the different fonts used! Though the series discontinuity between SVU and SY bothered me. 4mo
JenlovesJT47 I also read Senior Year 1-35 as they came out. I was at the end of high school but stopped reading them when I went to college. Kicking myself for not buying the rest of them anyway when they came out! I never read SVU except for 2 or 3 randomly so I‘m excited to get to those at some point, but I know what you mean about the continuity! Heck, I should have kept track of how many times they had Christmas/summer in the SVH books, it‘s hilarious when 4mo
JenlovesJT47 You think about it! 😅😅😅 4mo
JenlovesJT47 Omg so I am so beyond excited right now! I was up til 3:30 this morning because I was trying to find SOMEWHERE where I could read the first SVT book online, because I want to do a complete read through (you have inspired me!😁). They have probably 30-40 on open library but not the first one. Sooo…I finally found something and hit the motherload! There is a site called Anna‘s Archive where it is free to download books and they have EVERYTHING. ⬇️ (edited) 4mo
JenlovesJT47 And I do mean everything! All of SV Kids, SVT, Jr. High, Unicorn Club, SVU, SY, they even have the Elizabeth series! And they have number 45 of SY too. And it‘s totally free! 😱😍😍😍 https://annas-archive.org 4mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 Whoah!!!! Amazing find!!! Thank you for sharing!!! 🥳❤️🥳❤️I have been keeping track of the holidays so far, actually! No real repeats in SVT so far… though I know that won‘t last!! 4mo
JenlovesJT47 Man I am finding all kinds of cool stuff on this site! Lots of things that are out of print and hard to find/expensive that I‘ve been wanting to read for years. It‘s like Christmas came early! 😍 4mo
