This is my latest book, set in Sweden in 1858. So far so good! #book #currentread
Recent purchase ~ In the Month of the Midnight Sun by Cecilia Ekbäck (Kindle edition?~ Q8.99 from amazon UK). I read Cecilia Ekbäck's first book, 'Wolf Winter' last year & I enjoyed it, a great story with a lot of atmosphere.
I absolutely love her novels! I become completely absorbed in her world and never want to leave. She weaves the storyline and characters together so well and makes me adore even the most annoying characters. This will definitely be added with Wolf Winter as one of my all time favorites.
So excited to start this one! I loved Wolf Winter and the author will be doing a talk next week in my city so I hope to finish before then.
This had the potential to be an excellent book, but instead it was mediocre. I had loads of problems with it, including poor editing (like weird punctuation and repeated sentences); three first person narratives that all sounded like the same voice; and the fact it was made up of too many short sentences and didn't give me a chance to get into the flow. I appreciate the themes, but it could have been executed much better. (2.5 stars).
I'm so excited for my next read - it was the first book I got as part of my #Bookabuy subscription and looks like it'll be a cracker.
