"I hear the doorbell. "
(Mars is very excited for Wrestlemania weekend)
This was quite enjoyable even though I was only in it for the luchador subplot. Lots of trauma in the set up but it‘s not entirely miserable. Spice was good (though some of the dirty talk seemed out of character at times). Lots of “that‘s my wife”, understandable miscommunications

This is my other “Wrestlemania” read. I haven‘t read the other books in this series, or anything else by this author & I don‘t even really like contemporary romance but that‘s whatever I heard Silver based the MMC aesthetics on Roman Reigns & I was like ok I‘m in. But his name is Rhys Dupris.. this man is Samoan. & he‘s not telling her he‘s a wrestler because it‘s “embarrassing”. He‘s on TV, he‘s not an indie death match wrestler.
It was ok, solid 4 star. Not as good as Wild Love but the addiction and death themes made it more solid. The bit at the end where he told her to go in the hospital was grim, it was resolved within a few pages but frustrating to have to go through. Good read, well written, read it in under a day so enjoyed it.
This was a delightful contemporary romance. Both main characters were both lovable and flawed and their romance bloomed very naturally. I also really liked it not having an unnecessary third act break up-which just would not have fit these characters. Elsie Silver‘s writing gets better & better each new book. 5⭐️
