The Secret of Secrets
The Secret of Secrets: A Novel | Dan Brown
19 posts | 16 read | 2 reading | 5 to read
The world's most celebrated thriller writer returns with his most stunning novel yet--a propulsive, twisty, thought-provoking masterpiece that will entertain readers as only Dan Brown can do. Robert Langdon, esteemed professor of symbology, travels to Prague to attend a groundbreaking lecture by Katherine Solomon--a prominent noetic scientist with whom he has recently begun a relationship. Katherine is on the verge of publishing an explosive book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief. But a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos, and Katherine suddenly disappears along with her manuscript. Langdon finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague's most ancient mythology. As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine . . . and for answers. In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.

First book of 2026 and it was…fine I guess. Really should have been like 200 pages shorter. I found myself skimming a lot over the more science dense parts. Image of the view from our hotel room in Chula Vista, CA which is our new home for the next 60 days while my husband is here for work!! So looking for any must visit indie bookstores in San Diego!

Ugh. Not really worth the slog. I loved the idea of this book, but had t realized before now what a horrible writer Dan Brown is. The science was cool, though!

5 Stars • 6th Robert Langdon thriller: Robert Langdon joins girlfriend Katherine Solomon (from The Lost Symbol) in Prague for her lecture on human consciousness. Her research proves consciousness persists after death as scientific evidence for an afterlife. Katherine vanishes; Langdon races through Prague's landmarks, tunnels, and secrets, evading assassin and a shadowy organization.

Sitting in my living room, under a blanket, in a recliner, and listening to the audiobook. Hubby is watching football. I‘m feeling very comfy and cozy.

Dan Brown is my guilty pleasure. On to something for fun.
Is there a story here? I'm on page 211 and this book doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
Jumping back in and getting better.

Qualified recommendation. I liked the story, however it is very long. And it felt to me as if Dan Brown has a formula he follows when crafting a story. This character, check; this plot point, check; Langdon has trouble with the authorities, check; etc. So while the story was interesting, and the science was different, I felt as if I were reading the same story over again.

This did not need to be so got dang long.

Suzze I have heard so many people say this! My hold came up at Libby and I‘m 30% in. So far, it‘s fine, I‘m worried it‘s going to drag on too long. 2mo
britt_brooke @Suzze If he could‘ve wrapped it up in 400 pages, it would‘ve been solid. Hope you continuing enjoying!! 2mo

I love Dan Brown books and this one did not disappoint. We all now need to go to Prague! History, epilepsy, mystery, science/technology, CIA, remote viewing and consciousness! Look up everywhere and everything as you go through this read. Langdon is back!

Found a good reading spot outside the gym where my 11 year old is participating in a basketball clinic with our high school team. It‘s a gorgeous evening in middle Tennessee!

I love a Robert Langdon story. Eight years for this one was a long time, but the research must have been pretty heavy. I know a lot of people complained about it. It's pretty science heavy. But I love how Brown gives me just enough answers at just the right time. I have to think, but not too hard. The pieces fall into place perfectly.

Man, it was a long eight years to wait for this book. It's so good. I enjoy a good mystery. Robert Langsdon is a great MC. His girlfriend, Katherine, is asked to Prague to discuss a book she's working on. Soon, they are running for their lives, trying to figure out why people want her manuscript to disappear. That's all I want to say bc I don't want to spoil it!
