8 posts | 8 read | 2 reading | 1 to read
A classic adventure from the creator of Drizzt! High in the Snowflake Mountains sits the Edificant Library, a place of scholarly study for priests, bards, and others. Now from the hidden vaults beneath the library a devastating curse is unleashed, and a young cleric must battle the terrifying creatures set loose by a malevolent, consuming essence that's been released, before his own brethren turn against him. Cadderly must put his studies to the test and enter the catacombs far below to save his brothers and himself. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Mehso-so

This is the first book I've read by Salvatore. I almost bailed, things didnt get going until page 125, which seems very late for a book only 314 pages long, but I stuck it out and the story got better. The writing is a bit simplistic, but I'm sure my 12 year old self would have loved it. I'm going to give Book 2 of the series a chance, mainly because I like the relationship between Cadderly and Danica. They're both strong characters, and 👇👇👇

RamsFan1963 Danica doesn't seem like the kind of female character who will get turned into a damsel in distress. 3 💥💥💥 5y

The first book in the Cleric Quintet starts off with a bang! Basically bad guy starts to amass an army and releases a curse in the catacombs beneath a big library. Good guy and friends have to go down there to stop it. Fantastic book, looking forward to second in series!

A solid entry in the Forgotten Realms. Cadderly is a great character, and I can't wait to spend more time exploring his particular set of tales.
