I‘ve been in love with this book since I first learned of it years ago, and I‘ve given it as a gift more than once and recommended it widely. Minor detail: I‘d never actually read it! 😆 But now that‘s fixed. Thankfully, it‘s very worthy of my advance love - just an excellent, intelligent, practical approach to home cooking and to making the most of every ingredient. And the writing = 😍! Every bit as brilliant as the content.

There is no single "cookbook" that has been more influential in empowering me to embrace and enjoy the process of making food than this one. A book I read/re-read constantly and one I press into everyone's hands (well, a second copy - keep your paws off mine!)

I started this ages ago, flew through it, and then set it down in the last chapter, not wanting it to end. I finally did finish it and what a treat. Adler has had me craving olives for months now. She writes about the simplest of food with sensual elegance. A wonderful read that I'm sure I'll come back to over and over. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now that I'm checking books out at work instead of buying as many, I end up returning the book before I've posted! 😭 But I see that cat stickers are a thing now... Day26 #SeasonsReadings2016 #bookishgifts I did not get many bookish gifts this year but I was happy to get these two foodie books from a good friend who shares my love of cooking. Perfect as I had to return "Kitchens of the Great Midwest" to the library unread a couple of months ago and it has been checked out ever since and I have also been wanting to read "An Everlasting Meal." #foodiebooks
