Fifteen-year-old Lynn Marie Sugrue is doing her best to make it through a difficult summer. Her mother works long hours as a nurse, and Lynn suspects that her mothers pill-popping boyfriend has enlisted her in his petty criminal enterprises. Lynn finds refuge in online flirtations, eventually meeting up with a troubled young soldier, Logan Loy, and inviting him home. When hes forced to stay over in a storage space accessible through her closet, and the Army subsequently lists him as AWOL, she realizes that hes the one thing in her life that she can control. Meanwhile, her mothers boyfriend is on the receiving end of a series of increasingly violent threats, which places Lynn squarely in the cross-hairs. From the Trade Paperback edition.

1. In this genre, mystery in haunted houses, ghosts, witches, and dark twisted retellings 2. I don't know much about horror movies. Open for recommendations. 3. I don't know. Usually, what they provoke me is anxiety but I don't think I have read a very scary one. 4. Nope, recommendations? 5. Medium level gore?🤔😂6. Is there an horror book but not too scary? Recommendations?

Chrissyreadit Did you read Bird Box? I like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I am hoping to read Feed that might be horror too. 4y
Gissy @Chrissyreadit Yes, I read Bird Box and also I listened the audiobook which was fantastic. I liked it. It was not scary for me but it provoked me anxiety in some scenes. From Stephen King I read Pet Sematary and The Outsider. I really enjoyed both of them. I could say that Pet Sematary has some scary scenes and The Outsider, well it was gory and creepy but not too scary for me but I really enjoyed it. I haven't read anything yet by Koontz. 4y
Chrissyreadit @Gissy I‘m just getting back into horror so I have only read a handful of books. Feed is on my TBR though. I just finished The Broken Girls and thought it was good. 4y
Gissy @Chrissyreadit I have that one I want to read it. Her books are very similar to cozy mysteries. I read Lost Among The living and I enjoyed it. But I guess my books will be in boxes until January because many things are happening at this time. I have in my shelf books received in recent swaps and the last books that were supposed to be packed but I decided to kept them handy☺️On December I think I will have more time to read🤞 4y

For #creepychristmas

1. I love stories where normal people get involved in something horrific. And true crime
2. Rosemary‘s Baby (very much my #1 answer)
3. The last one was Bird Box. Scared the crap out of me.
4. Someimes. I loved True Blood. I watched a few seasons of The Walking Dead. I liked Netflix The Haunting of Hill House.
5. No gore.
6. What is the creepiest thing that ever happenned to you?

@teebe

teebe I‘ve had so many creepy things happen it‘s hard to choose. I suppose the time I was alone in my room and very distinctly felt someone put their hand on my head tops the list. 4y

AmyG @veritysalter OK, that is very creepy. A ghost? Spirit? 4y
veritysalter @AmyG I try not to think about it, it freaks me out a bit (she‘s 15 now); she was too little to make something like that up. 4y
