And just like that January is over. Body count this month is 15 books, three of which are rereads. My top three books this month were Ring Shout, Alice and The Golden Dynasty. The most surprising amazing read was The Nurses Secret and the funniest was You Suck. And lastly the worst book of the month was The last Werewolf. Completed all my challenges that included my #bookspinbingos w/ one bingo and my #roll100.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Fantastic month!!! 1y

4.8⭐️ I am on book two and loving this trilogy. However, while there is really good romance in spice in this book, there‘s also a lot of triggers. I enjoy the world building and character development, but the story does give me a Dothraki vibes. Overall the book is so good and worth reading. This is my first read of the 2023 and my first challenge read. #Roll100

I was thankfully warned ahead of time that this book starts out with rape, kidnapping and a bride hunt. So these were hard to read, but I understand why it happened in the book. It didn‘t detract from me really liking this book and loving the way Circe and Lahn both grew and changed over the course of the story.

Lauren_reading Ashley had built a world very different than Earth - and this setting was completely different than in book 1 of the series. It‘s a nomadic group of people, led by warriors and women don‘t have much of a say except that allowed by men. I can totally deal with this in a fantasy novel and I really liked this book. 3y
