Geez, I hope this improves soon. The opening chapter had me tearing up with Henson's funeral, then I skipped 50 pages as it talked about children's TV at the time and some producer's life story. Not a great start.

After reading the Jim Henson Biography I wanted to know more about Sesame Street and this book did not disappoint. If you grew up loving these characters as much as I did, this book will give you a deeper look into the people behind the scenes of this groundbreaking show.

readordierachel Oh, how interesting! It's amazing, the staying power and quality of the show. Will have to find a copy of this! 6y

Latest car listen - read by Big Bird!

TobeyTheScavengerMonk Hmmmmmm... I wonder if I would enjoy it more on audio? I found the book extremely informative, but more cold and clinical than what I had hoped for. I can‘t imagine anything being read by Carol Spinney would sound cold or clinical. 7y
Bookwormjillk @TobeyTheScavengerMonk it helps except for when they talk about his love life and then it‘s just weird 7y

We are cleaning out the garage and I came across this New Yorker magazine. It will be saved. This is a great book for all of us who grew up with Children's Television Workshop and Bert & Ernie, et al. #bestfriendships #booktober #favoritefriendships

Dragon Oscar the Grouch was my fave ! 8y
DebinHawaii Fun! I loved the Count! 👍 8y
AliceInWonderLibrary "How do I look Ernie?" "With your eyes Bert." And people wonder why my generation is so snarky... 8y
Theresa Snuffleupagus was my favorite. I'm still devastated that he's no longer an "imaginary" friend. I related to him because I had an imaginary friend too. ? 8y
Liberty I still have nightmares about the Captain Kangaroo story about the monkey and the raccoon. 😳 8y
