Perplexing Theft of the Jewel in the Crown | 
panOof. I don't think I can continue with this series. I keep hoping it's going to settle into cozy mystery, but the author, as much as they present heart-warming and earnest moments, also provides a great foil of human misery and corruption. While I get building tension and can go with the melodramatic flow most of the time, I had to skim the third of the book between a kid being handed back to his abuser and getting him out of there, I just can't.
The true escapism of a murder mystery: everything is explained. 😏

pickStarted off with an “impossible crime” mystery and smack in the middle of this investigation was Chopra because not only was he there the day the theft occurred but a person from his past beseeched him for his help in the investigation. I love heist stories and there were plenty of twists and turns in this book to keep me actively participating in the investigation. Poppy is once again one of my favorite characters. An entertaining mystery!
