Wow. I've had this book for a long time but needed to wait for the hype to die down. Was terrified it couldn't live up to expectations, but it did not disappoint. I literally feel heavy now - I'm not likely to accomplish anything for the rest of the day beyond clutching it to my chest & having all the feels. Not going to give a single thing away - just read it. 💙💙💙

If you hate to read parables, do not read this book. If you want a story about a journey through the many ways to control and manipulate humans and the horrifying costs to all the players involved, then please read this book. #lrc14 #2016awardwinner

First of all, sorry for the crazy number of posts. I've done nothing but reading and cleaning today, because I'm savouring my last full day off before going back to work. I picked this one up on a whim, because it was available on #overdrive, and I finished it in less than an hour. It was adorable, funny and insightful.

I got to see Nguyen speak last week and he was great! I was only a few chapters into The Sympathizer, so hearing him talk about it gave me the motivation to finish it. This one was a really tough read for me. It's definitely way outside my normal reading, but I'm very glad I read it. I will be thinking about this book for a long time. 🤔
