#SpringSentiments @Eggs

When a small Alabama town becomes #inundated after Spring rains, something evil washes into the town with the flood waters.

I just recently finished this Southern gothic series and really enjoyed it.

Eggs Sounds like an exciting series 👏🏻📚👍🏼 4y

Excellent ending to this southern gothic series! What started with the rain, ends with the rain. This book is probably my favorite and McDowell did a great job of bringing everything together. Some characters from previous books make an appearance again, and family secrets come to the surface.

McDowell has created a wonderfully creepy family saga that just keeps building. This book focuses on new additions to the family, one of which has rather unique abilities. The Caskey family continues to be at the center of strange events and disappearances making their neighbors unsure about what is happening.

Another interesting installment in this southern gothic tale that I heard about in Hendrix's book Paperbacks From Hell.

This book didn't have the creepiness of the others. As Elinor's daughters grow-up one of them starts realizing she's different and that the muddy water of the Peridio brings out something in her that's unnatural.

I'm excited to see where the next book takes me.

This book is an inside look into the American government and its privately owned mercenary army Blackwater. Not a light read, and caution to some as the atrocities documented in this book are quite gruesome. What will you gain? A complete shift in perspective.

Another great continuation of this series. There's a lot more action in this book and some of the storylines from the first two volumes start coming together.

The Perdido River becomes a character of its own in this book bringing with it the blackness from the depths of its churning waters.

This is my favorite one so far and I can't wait to continue.

We live in central Arkansas and are preparing for some of the possible worst flooding this area has ever seen. I‘m shocked by the number of people who are doing nothing to prepare.

Djspens Good luck😥 I hope it doesn't get that high! 5y
WorldsOkayestStepMom Good luck!! I hope nothing happens, but it's great that you're prepared if it does. 5y

I really enjoyed the first installment to this old school gothic horror series. The writing felt similar to Shirley Jackson stories. The setting of southern Alabama was immersive, descriptive, and accurate to the time period. This isn't really scary, but more of the goosebump inducing, mess with your head type horror that you don't see coming. There is a mother-son relationship that is almost as creepy as the Bates family. Next one please 👍
