pickIt‘s been a long time since I‘ve read Sanderson, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one, and have begun the next in the series. The world that he creates is fascinating, the characters are rich, and the politics appropriately murky.
As the wit says to Kaladin:

The number of times, my scalp tingled with new revelations as the story progresses, can‘t even tell. The events describing each character‘s closing on on discovering their destinies my eyes 👀 just popped out each time that happened. This book overwhelmed me. Above all, this book is not just a fantasy, it‘s a philosophy, it‘s a religion. M not surprised that it has developed such a cult. 👇

I'm at nearly 600 pages, almost the halfway point. Thoughts so far:
*The term epic fantasy gets tossed around, like other terms. But Sanderson reminds readers what it really is. An entirely immersive experience.
*This is book 1 of Stormlight Archive. Book 4 will be published this fall. I have no idea where the story is going from here, but I have total faith in Sanderson to pull it off & am already?
pickThis is a book about Shardbearers wielding 6 foot swords that cut souls, Surgebinders who craft illusions and defy gravity, and the coming of the world-shattering Everstorm.
It is also a book about broken people who must figure out how to do the right thing and what that even means in a messy world.
1000+ pages of that either sounds awesome to you or it doesn‘t. If so, seek out The Stormlight Archive.

pickI legit just put this book down with only about an hour left to go in it so I could run to 7-11 and buy chocolate so I could have snacks while I finished it! 🤗
This series is the shit and Oathbringer delivered on every level for me. I absolutely loved it! 😍
