I love foreshadowing in history. What did Iraq become? Well, it became another Vietnam with Afghanistan that destroyed a Bush presidency. If you would like to read about the Iraq war that I consider another Vietnam that destroyed a Bush presidency, feel free to look back on what we posted and reread Days of Fire also by Peter Baker. #themanwhoranwashington #peterbaker #susanglasser #daysoffire #iraq #conflict #history #foreshadowing #bush

Great account of the planning and conduct of the Iraq War that dispels many perceptions.

The writings collected here are those of white immigrant women from England and Ireland who moved to Australia in search of better lives and promised easy money (which largely did not exist). Their journals and letters are an important bit of history to preserve and fascinating in some places while dull in others. A soft pick.

Megabooks I like your Flippy color. 👍🏻 Mine‘s navy. So great for reading! 3y
Hooked_on_books @Megabooks I rarely read without it! My mom picked the color and I think she did an awesome job. 3y
monalyisha Tell me more about this Flippy? I‘m intrigued. I see how it could be great for tablets/phones, etc — but tell me more about using it for print books & why you find it so helpful? 3y
Hooked_on_books @monalyisha It‘s a firm (foam core), triangular pillow with a ledge on each side and a slightly different angle to each, so you can rest your book on it while it‘s in your lap and read with much less wrist strain. It‘s especially helpful for big hardcovers, but useful with any book. I love it! 3y

February turned out to be a slow reading month for me. I couldn't concentrate well due to anxiety. I did really enjoy Plain Bad Heroines and Bluebird, Bluebird, both were 5 stars. The Ickabog was a little disappointing and the Strivers' Row Spy didn't quite flow. The rest were really good. I hope March is a more productive month.

I‘m nervous when it comes to books on politics and bias, but Peter Baker is very fair with little to no bias in this book.
