Meh. I guess if I had done a little research on the Color series, I would have known that they all feature their hero pining over someone they lost. I guess I wasn't in the mood for Cap mourning Bucky so soon after reading Matt Murdock's story. Or maybe I just don't find Captain America to be that interesting. Even Sale's art seemed uninspired. And, if I hadn't seen the MCU movies, I would have had no idea who anyone in this comic was.
Man's inhumanity to man. What made me weep at the close of this graphic novel is realizing exactly how much Truth there is to the kinds of atrocities depicted and the kind of treatment black people (and other BIPOC minorities) received, even AFTER the worst was done. See the last couple pages of this work for academic/ historical sources. A very important read. #graphicnovel #bipoccharacters #racisminhistory
Captain America has been living a lie, when he is revealed to be one of their agents since the sentient Cosmic Cube Kobik affected his memories upon Red Skull's clone using her powers on him. Steve Rogers has worked his way into a position where he can make Hydras ideal reality!
An emotional look at Cap‘s early years fighting in the Second World War alongside his best friend, Bucky. Sparse dialogue with very cinematic scenes, this tale digs into the deep relationship forged by these kindred spirits, a friendship that will echo into the future. Classic!
Sped through this one pretty quick. Short redemption story for Bucky.
Good installment. Beginning of Bucky as Captain America. Kinda heartwarming how much he wants to impress Sam. :D
Time to carry on with this bad boy now. Stopped halfway through.
