Pickpick

Joe spends a month in Texas, visiting his brother in prison, death row, before the scheduled execution date. Told in verse, this is an amazing and gut-wrenching story about family, forgiveness, and fortitude.

JenReadsAlot @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I've read a lot and enjoyed most! 13mo
marleed This was the audiobook I listened to while I drove from my home in Kansas City to a new river walk apartment life in San Antonio. Anytime I see the cover posted I think of hearing the ending on my first walk down the Riverwalk from Pearl Brewery to find my new Starbucks! 13mo
JenReadsAlot @marleed Love this story! I visited SA last Thanksgiving and enjoyed walking the river walk! 13mo

Read4life I love Picoult‘s books. I haven‘t read this but you just gifted me a book so it‘s someone else‘s turn 💙 You are amazingly generous, Misty! 1y

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Read4life I love to share the love of books with others! It makes my heart happy ❤️ 1y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Escapinwithbooks let me know if you like it! Her books deal a lot with real life issues and some aren‘t pretty. I‘m slowly exchanging my paperbacks to hard cover of her books so I will have more to give away soon! 1y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Read4life have you read A Man Called Ove?? 1y
Escapinwithbooks I haven‘t but just put it on my wish list today because I want to read it before I watch the movie. I try to always read the book first, if I know there is a book. 1y
Read4life Yes, I have. I love Backman. I was lucky enough to have been given an accurate description of the book beforehand so I wasn‘t shocked. I keep seeing it portrayed as warm & funny. While it has its moments, it is definitely a serious read. Have you read it? 1y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Read4life yes.. I‘ve read it. My husband hasn‘t. It‘s been a while but I don‘t remember the scenes as graphic as they are saying in the movie.. 1y
Read4life I haven‘t seen Otto but I thought the book was more subtle than what I‘m hearing of the movie. Backman tackles serious topics & issues but I‘ve never thought of his writing as graphic. I don‘t remember the original movie being graphic either. 1y
