#GoColdTurkey describes the sudden & complete termination of a bad habit or addiction such as nicotine, alcohol, drugs, junk food… Both go cold turkey & quit cold turkey are considered correct & widely used. Quit cold turkey was first used in the early 1800s, with go cold turkey appearing later that century. Now, go cold turkey is the more common.

#IdiomInsight Day 27: #GoColdTurkey was what the world went through during the pandemic, and these European writers, including my favourite Dutch Novelist Cees Nooteboom penned some recipes for the future or what they called “previews from cultural quarantine.” Talk about cold turkey indeed.
When Jenny enters eating disorders treatment she has to #GoColdTurkey not from a drug but from her addiction to starving and vomiting.😢
